Russia compares Ukraine’s military to IS

The ongoing meeting of the UN Security Council is just an attempt by the Ukrainian authorities to create “artificial hysteria” about what is happening in Ukraine, says Vasily Nebenzya, Russia’s envoy to the UN.

According to him, it is a lie that Russian forces attacked the Ukrainian nuclear power plant Zaporizhia and caused the fire there. Instead, it must have been Ukrainian “saboteurs” who were behind it.

Vasily Nebenzya claims that Russian forces seized the nuclear power plant for two main reasons: to reduce the risk of “nuclear provocations” from Ukraine and to secure the energy supply for the people of Ukraine.

During his speech, Vasily Nebenzya compared the Ukrainian Armed Forces to the terrorist group IS and accused them of using civilians as human shields.

At 01:00 on Friday night, the alarm went off that it had started burning at Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, Zaporizhia. According to Ukrainian authorities, the fire started after Russian shelling.
